What's 7 segment led display ？

 

7 Segment  LED Display is a digital display device composed of multiple light-emitting diodes packaged. It displays the numbers from 0 to 9 and some letters by controlling the on and off of different segments of leds. The standard seven-segment digital tube consists of seven strip-shaped leds (A-G segments) and one circular decimal point (DP segment), and is connected in a common cathode or common anode manner.

Composition: 7 segments + decimal point ("8.")

 

Display principle: Different combinations of segments can display 16 types of characters

 

Drive mode: It needs to be used in conjunction with driver IC (such as 74HC595)
